McLennan Park is our newest large park - and living proof that an old, forsaken property can be transformed into a fulfilling destination for children, adults and families to enjoy together.
This 39-hectare site is built on a former landfill site. The city entered into a lease agreement with the Region of Waterloo to develop the former landfill into a city park -- supporting our commitment toward preserving and enhancing the local environment, as well as our quality of life.
McLennan Park currently offers a number of amenities, including:
Accessible play-structure
Beach volleyball and basketball courts *
BMX bike park
Larger lawn area
Leash-free dog park
Park amenities, including a lookout
Pedestrian trails
Picnic shelter
Skatepark
Splash pad
Toboggan hill
Washroom building
