Geocache Description:

A micro cache placed near some popular sports and recreational grounds.

For a time, the parking area near this cache was opened up by the Nelson City Council to so-called 'Freedom Campers'. Initially temporary portable toilets were in place but more recently brand shiny new permanent facilities have been built here.

However, in the meantime, the council would appear to have had a change of heart and since May 2011, Freedom Camping is forbidden anywhere in Nelson - (visit link)

So, this area has gained some new facilities which are quite nicely decorated and now a cache as well. There is plenty of space to run around and a skate park as well if you are into that sort of thing. I certainly remember bringing my sons here when they were going through their 'Skater Dawg' phases.

The area can be highly muggle prone so care and stealth will be required on retrieval and replacement of the cache. Otherwise it should be a pretty straightforward find.

Cache is a nano container with log only so do bring your own writing device.
