El Nido de Ametralladora, se encuentra muy cerca de la ruta que desde el "Alto del Chorrillo" conduce a la cima del Mulhacen.

Fué construido en tiempos de la Guerra Civil Española, con el propósito de defender la carretera que cruzaba desde Capileira.

En 2008 fué rehabilitado para su uso como refugio de montaña y aunque bastante pequeño cuenta con los requisitos minimos para podernos salvar en una situación de emergencia.

Hay un poste de color rojo junto a la puerta que nos ayudará a su localización en el muy probable caso de que se encuentre totalmente cubierto por la nieve, y existe adosada al mismo una pala que puede sernos imprescindible para poder abrirnos paso hasta la puerta.
