El valle de Ruda es uno de los más impresionantes del valle de Arán y forma parte de la parte periférica del Parque Nacional. El perfil de sus vertientes, en forma de U, nos indica que estamos en un territorio ocupado, miles de años atrás, por un glaciar que llego a medir 70 km de longitud. En su cabecera, conocida como el circo de Saboredo, nace el río Garona, para ir a desembocar al Atlántico 600 km después. Montañas de pastos, bosques y lagos son algunos de los elementos definitorios de este valle. El cache es una pequeña caja situada cerca del camino que atraviesa este valle, en uno de sus rincones favoritos de mi padre, a quien dedico este cache. Puede llegarse hasta muy cerca en 4x4, pero recomendamos vivamente hacer el mayor recorrido posible a pie.
Ruda´s Valley is one of the most spectacular places of Aran Valley, and it is part of the peripherical area of the National Park. The U shaped slopes tell us about its origin, thousands years ago, when this land was occupied by a big glacier, which was more than 70 km long. In the upper side of the valley, known as Saboredo Circus, the fresh waters of The Garona River are born, and after journey of 600 km they flow into the Atlantic Sea. Mountain grasslands, forest and lakes are some of the distinctive elements of this place. The cache is small box placed near the path that goes through the valley, one of my father’s favorite places, whom is devoted this cache. It’s is possible to arrive not far away from the cache by 4x4, but to make the most of this wonderful landscape, I strongly recommend walk as much as possible.
