Cachen ligger midt i Rollag sentrum, mellom kommunehuset, butikken og "Stasjonsfruene", en kafe. Her er også Numedalsbanen som ble nedlagt i 1987.
Cachen er en rund metallboks.
Ved start inneholdt den: loggbok, blyant, blyantspisser og noen skatter til bytting (målebånd, mammut, stor 5-øre-mynt, kinderegg).
