Located near the Easternmost point in Wisconsin, at Rock Island State Park! Take the Island Loop or Havamal Trail from the boat house to the site of the abandoned fishing village. Requires a ferry ride from Washington Island, thus the moderate difficulty rating.
The name refers to the history of the site, which was an old fishing village inhabited in the 1800's. It was abandoned because of the lack of a safe harbor for the large steam ships that began to sail the Great Lakes in the late 1800's.
The cache is a yellow plastic waterproof container.
