It's been two years since the last CITO event (GC1W92Z) at the
Simi Valley Wildlife Corridor. This year there is plenty of
grafitti and trash to be cleaned up.
Meet at 8 AM, at the far eastern end of Smith Road in
Corriganville. (N 34° 15.987 W 118° 38.916).
Directions: From Kuehner Drive and the 118, head South to Smith
Road and turn left. Continue to the end Smith Road, passing the
public parking area. Follow the CITO Event signs, past the normally
locked gate where the pavement ends, to a designated parking area,
adjacent the rail road track. The hike from there to the Wildlife
Corridor is about 0.3 miles, with 300 feet of elevation gain.
The Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District will provide all we
need for the event. You must bring your own water, snacks, and
sunscreen. Please wear old work clothes, gloves and a hat.
After the event, we'll meet at a picnic area in Corriganville
Park, for refresments, snacks and a free drawing.
This event is being held in conjunction with a Simi Valley Trail
Blazers work party.
Several new geocaches will publish the morning of the event, all
in the Corriganiville Park area.
