Geocache Description:

This historic building is located at the Gibbon city park near the center of town. During the summer this park is home to the Gibbon Reds baseball team, summer rec practice, as well as weekly band concerts and pie, the Gibbon City Fun Fest, and other recreational activities. There are sometimes a lot of muggles in the area so stealth is required. Bring your own pen.

The Gibbon village council acquired a pasture on September 18, 1898 which became the city park. The land was purchased for $50.00 per acre. There is a picture of the band stand in the Gibbon park from 1912 in the Gibbon Minnesota Centenial 1987 book. Today, during the summer months you can hear a tune or two from a band and enjoy a piece of pie at the weekly band concerts.
