This is where the line crossed the main highway It didn't cross again until it branched off to the Lime Works at Inch Valley

No2 in Dunback Branch Line series
The Dunback Branch Line first opened in 1885 starting at Palmerston and travelling west inland with stations at Meadowbank,Glenpark,Inch Valley,Dunback and the Makareao Lime Works.Passenger service were discontinued in 1930 and the line from Inch Valley to Dunback closed in 1968.The remaining goods service to the Makareao Lime Works ceased in 1988.
There were talks years ago about turning the route into a walk/bikeway but this never happened and now a lot of the route has been reclaimed by farmers and is not accessable.
