This is close to where the Glenpark Station was.
The Dunback Branch Line opened in 1885 starting at Palmerston and travelling west inland with stations at Meadowbank,Glenpark,Inch Valley,Dunback and the Makareao Lime works.Passenger services were discontinued in 1930 and the line from Inch Valley to Dunback was closed in 1968.The remaining goods service to the Makareao Lime Works were ceased in 1988.
There was talk years ago of turning the route into a walk/bikeway but this never happened and now a lot of the land has been reclaimed by farmers and is now not accessable
