Bob, (or BFE) is renowned for making his first 1,000 finds
without a GPS!
With a keen eye for detail, by reading logs and using printouts
from Google Earth (making allowances for errors), he can quickly
pinpoint and locate caches, often faster than those who have a
GPS.
Not even bushland can hold him back.
His biggest drawback in caching this way is doing multi’s,
which can take several visits, although he does have a strategy to
find simple ones.
Many of his own hides have a theme, so if you see a reel hot,
dusty, notorious, unusual, small cool day in Paradise (with a big,
defenceless, loose wheel), chances are he hid it.
Even though he now has a GPS, it’s still not unusual for
him to still find a cache without it. I suppose old habits die
hard!
