Taos Avalanche Traditional Cache

We went up to Taos for our annual hike up to Williams Lake. Thanks to geocaching, we discovered this great little hike and lake 4 years ago!
I'm always surprised at how FEW geocachers attempt the "Williams Lake" cache each year, (as of now... only 42 in over five years, granted it is a seasonal cache, but still) because every time we go on this hike, we see dozens and dozens of hikers, so we wanted to place a couple more caches along the trail to encourage more geocachers up this way!!
It it a moderately easy hike - takes us just about an hour from pkg lot to lake, but we stop to take pictures and a snack break, and if you want rain... we've never been up there when it hasn't rained, but if you don't, go before lunch, as the thunder and rain usually make their appearance in the afternoon. I think this is a great one for kids!
It is very scenic, and there are streams, beautiful wildflowers, interesting wildlife, and a waterfall to the right of the lake.
****If you have balance problems, I would encourage you to take a pole or stick, as the trail is rocky and requires good balance.
This may seem hard to get to but if you can get yourself to the Bavarian Restaurant, past the ski hill, the trail begins soon after The Bavarian. There is good signage, but it would be wise to google the area. Timewise, it takes us three hours to drive from NE ABQ up to the parking lot of the trail.
Please be mindful of muggles, as this trail is heavily used!
Though you may be able to fit a TB or coin in, I wouldn't recommend it, as it may hibernate for quite some time.
