Geocache Description:

NOTE 1/28/02: # CHANGED FOR WAYPOINT #2. THE ABOVE COORDINATES ARE NOT FOR THE ACTUAL CACHE, THEY ARE FOR THE PARKING SPOT TO BEGIN THIS HUNT. This cache is located in a world renown destination resort city and is best attempted during the tourist off season. If you attempt it during summer, bring lots of money and your finest swimwear. Expect a crowd during your hunt.

Less than 8 miles total, less than 1 mile walking and doable in under 2 hours. This assignment begins with a short drive north of Spokane, Washington. From where you first park, determine what city you are located in. Maybe check the near-by Post Office. What’s the Zip Code for this city? _ _ _ _ _.

This church looks like its been around for awhile, how old is it anyway? In the old days builders used to put a date on the corner-stones of foundations. Year church was built _ _ _ _.
Now you have the numbers needed for your next stop. 4653903 plus the zip-code _ _ _ _ _ equals latitude N _ _ _ _ . _ _ _. Subtract the year the church was built _ _ _ _ from 11722689 to get longitude W _ _ _ _ _ . _ _ _. Have a safe drive to this next location or you may be spending a long time there.

From this spot you must find the year my Great Grand Pa, John Peterson, was born. _ _ _ _, multiply that by 2567.8326 to get N _ _ _ _ . _ _ _ . My Great Grand Ma, Lucretia Peterson, was born on what date? MM/DD/YYYY. Subtract that from 18862958 to get W _ _ _ _ _ . _ _ _. That’s where we will be heading to next. For extra credit, can you determine where John Peterson homesteaded by reading descriptions at this location and consulting a map?

You can take off your thinking cap now and put on the ol’ hiking boots for the rest of this search. Find a suitable parking spot and begin exploring and hunting for the mini-cache* that will lead you to the end of this assignment. Hope you enjoy this project and I’ll reward you with a well deserved "A+" if you complete it………….WIZONKIZ Idaho Geocachers
