A easy to find cache in Manning Park somewhere over the Rainbow bridge!
This cache is placed near a memorial bench at Lightening Lakes. Alex Lowe loved to bike, ski, hike, camp and fish in this park. He lived his his life by the motto "Go Big Or Go Home". Here we love to go canoeing, swimming and fishing and even jump from the bridge. The cache contains several green elastic bracelets. Please take one and wear it if you feel!!
There is two options for parking. Both entail a walk in with very little elevation change.
One option is to park at the Lightening Lakes day use area, where the boat rental is and walk over the dam at the end of the lake and then continue to walk around the lake; this walk takes about 30-45 minutes.
Another option is to park at the Spruce Bay parking area. To get here, comtinue along the road to the ski hill and turn off to the left at Lightening Lake camp ground, the road will split, take the right one and here you are. The walk from this parking lot is about 10 minutes.
Take some time here, if you can, to visit the memorial bench and take in the beautiful scenery and take a moment to "Go Big Or Go Home"!! Please enjoy this spot as Alex would have!!
