Geocache Description:

Windsor to Wisemans Ferry (W2W Series)

Log only, but an amazing view - walk up to the lookout - worth the effort.

==========================================================.
A leisurely drive from Windsor - Wilberforce - Ebenezer - Lower Portland - Leets Vale - Webbs Creek to Wisemans Ferry. Just over 40km of back road following the Hawkesbury River. Part of the road is unsealed, but suitable for 2 wheel drive cars. ( Can be slippery if wet ) This series of caches passes through Bicentenary Road. So I have named the caches after each ship in the First Fleet. - I hope you enjoy the drive. Easy finds, plenty of swaps, can you get all eleven in the series? Good Luck.
==========================================================
The Golden Grove was a First Fleet storeship built at Whitby in 1780. Her master was William Sharp, while the Fleet's chaplain Richard Johnson and his wife and servant also traveled to New South Wales on this ship. She left Portsmouth on 13 May 1787, and arrived at Port Jackson, Sydney, Australia, on 26 January 1788.
A former inner-city suburb of Sydney was named after the ship. This suburb has now been largely subsumed into a small locality, part of Newtown and Camperdown and the name today is carried only by some maps and a street in the area.
