While talking to Night Hawk at an event this past weekend, I
used this phrase. He replied that he hadn't heard that one in a
while. I thought it was only right and fittin' to include it in
this series of caches. See even good ole boys need a refresher in
their English every now and again.
Today's phrase is.....
Ain't Done It (ant-dun-hit ) exclamation : I don't
believe you are correct sir; Ain't is growing more common, derived
from the English words Are and Not. Contrary to what some would
lead you to believe, it IS in the dictionary cuz I just
looked it up.
Night Hawk: "I just hid three more caches.
Rhett: "Awww, you ain't done it! I've heard them lies
before."
The great thing about geocaching is that not only is it fun, but
it can also be educational! As a service to our yankee friends who
are transplanted here or who are just passing through, I bring you
the Country Grammar series. Each cache in this series will present
a new word from the Southernese language. For extra credit, try to
work the word into your log entry. If you run into a muggle while
at this cache, use the words you learn here and they will think you
are one of them. The only way to become fluent is to put these
words to use!
You're looking for a film can, so bring your own pen. Use your
own geocaching common sense at all times.
