Big container,placed alongside a riverside footpath
This cache is located in an old childhood play area, in an area called 'Borstal Rec' alongside Baty's Marsh, named after an old man who saved the marshes from being developed as an ice rink. A friendly chap who always stood on his doorstep and would say hello or have a chat. Huge white beard, i used to think maybe he was Father Christmas.
You can find the cache next to what used to be tennis courts, about the area that my brother fell off the 12ft fence, whilst climbing over to play tennis, biting off the end of his tongue. The courts are very overgrown now but the net posts are still standing, even after 30 years.
there are some benches overlooking some of the nicer parts of the river along the footpath, and this cache can be done at the same time as 'Poppy's treasure #2' as the footpath links them well.
The footpath is well used so look out for muggles.
