Geocache Description:

This cache was previously part of a series in the summer of 2011. The series has been dismantled, so please ignore codes on the lid of the container and any mention of 'crystal skulls'.

The following table is taken from a historic atlas of Lincoln and Welland County. Surely if you are from the region you will recognize most, if not all, of the names in the list – a true testament to just how much these early settlers shaped the area between Chippawa and Fort Erie. Most of these pioneer names are represented by roads crossing through the area, some of which you know quite well are not much more than old overgrown clay-packs. You will be visiting two such areas completing this cache.

Begin this cache by travelling to the posted coordinates. Do not attempt this cache at night or with snow cover on the ground. I am being vague on purpose to allow for discovery, but there is a year etched here on the ground and you need it (as a check, the four digits add to 15). Suggested approach is off of the Niagara River Parkway, as it is a fairly pleasant and dry walk. 4x4s can even consider it a drive-up. Write the year down and when you get back to the car, perform some simple math to find the cache (a short drive away and another short walk):

N 43 00.(the year – 1095)

W 079 02.(the year – 1570)

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

[Again, the year checksum = 15]
