A straight-forward cache on an odd little piece of trail. I think this is part of Lafayette's long-term plan to seize the hillside to the north and run a trail up to that. Don't know if that will ever happen. It's not a bad little trail but doesn't really serve much purpose as yet.
In the mean time, however, I thought I'd put a cache here.
The cache itself is a small lock-and-lock wrapped in camo duct tape with a few trinkets. This will be the closest cache to my house, so should be easy to maintain. The only risk to the cache hiding spot is pretty well exposed to the houses across the street but this is manifestly a public trail. Still, try to keep late night flashlights to a minimum. Technically, it's closed between 10PM and 5AM, like most Lafayette trails, but there's pretty open access.
