Geocache Description:

At GZ you will find one of a regional network of telemetered water level recorders. The information is transmitted automatically to the office and is used for flood warning and water resouce studies. It is operated by Environment Canterbury.

This cache is on the stop bank beside the Main Drain which leads into Kaiapoi River. The stop bank is a popular walking and cycling route. It can be accessed off Threlkelds Road to the west of the cache or from SkewBridge road to the east of the cache.

This is cache 3 of 10 placed on a Kaiapoi to Ohoka and back 20km bike ride I do now and again. Somewhere in the cache is a letter and number needed to calculate the location of the final (bonus) cache. Remember to look for and record these for future reference.
