Geocache event held by the Navarino Nature Center on the Navarino Wildlife Area.
This years Geocache Event will be held in conjunction with Navarino Nature Center's Fall Family Fun Day Open House. Terrain is Forest / Wetland / Prairie habitats and sandy soils. Trails are well maintained and 8-10' wide, however most caches will be located just off the trail. See long description for details.

6th annual geocache event at Navarino Nature Center on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 8:30 am to 3 pm. Come and enjoy seeking about 12 event caches on the 15,000 acre Navarino Wildlife Area (WDNR). All caches are coffee can in size and spread in various locations on the wildlife area. Enjoy the migratory wildlife and fall color while you try to locate all the caches. Lunch will be available during the FALL FAMILY FUN DAY OPEN HOUSE from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at the nature center. Donations are appreciated to help offset event costs. There will be an area to trade and display geocoins and travel bugs.
Don't have a GPS, join in with a team and learn the ropes, or rent one for the day from the nature center ($15 fee and copy of driver's license). Booklet with cache locations will be available for each team on the date of the event. Go to www.navarino.org for more details.

NOTE: The geocache event is taking place during the Waterfowl season and Youth Gun Deer Hunt. Caches have been within the refuge area and other locations to prevent any user conflicts.
Downloading coordinates using Easy GPS will be available Saturday morning, bring your own cables. Updates to follow.
Caches will be available for one week after the event. NNC has a new Green Building / Renewable Energy addition and we are planning lots of activities for the day. See you there.
