A large mortar tube cache hidden at a parking spot in Plaster Down with a scenic view of Pew Tor and many others.
We recently moved to Horrabridge and went for a drive to 'see what we could see'. We found this spot and felt it was a nice place for a picnic, and decided to return and place a cache here.
There is ample parking within a few hundred feet of the cache at the usual layby. The walk to the cache is flat, although not entirely level, so a wheelchair may find it bumpy going and a wheelchair user may need help reaching the cache. A pram should make it over the ground just fine, and the cache can be reached from just a couple of feet away from where you can park a pram.
The cache itself is near the Grimestone and Sortridge Leat, but out of reach of the waters should they swell. There are a lot of sheep and ponies in the area (as well as their 'leavings' so do watch out for your Geodogs and Geokids!). The cache's hiding spot may also be a tad prickly, so be warned!
The tube itself is well stocked with little swaps (many of them good for children), so remember 'TuTe' (Trade up, or Trade even!). The tube is also marked as a Geocache so no-one thinks it's an explosive :D
