KIM's Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Andalusite: This cache has been disabled for some time and as the owner has not repaired/replaced it, I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Geocache Description:

A small clip-lock tub cache with swaps.

My 12th cache :)

The KIM in question isn't actually a person, but the Kidwelly Industrial Museum!

From their website (as I haven't actually been in yet lol) :

"Kidwelly Industrial Museum is situated just a mile from the historic castle town of Kidwelly, and just five miles from the town of Llanelli, which, at the end of the 19th Century was the Tinplate manufacturing centre of the world, giving the town the nickname of Tinopolis.

The locality around the town of Llanelli, including Kidwelly, was once home to around half the world’s production of tinplate.

The Industrial Museum itself is the site of the second oldest recorded tinplate works in the UK and some of the remains of this works can still be seen today.

The museum is unique as it is the only museum dedicated to the interpretation of the tinplate industry in general and specifically the individual processes involved in making tinplate.

After a visit to the museum you will go away with an understanding of this complicated and fascinating process."

Cool :)

Entry to the museum is free, but it is only open on certain days of the week as it is run by volunteers. If you are planning to visit it then check on their website first.

There is a nice river pool here too. Don't think you're allowed to go in for a dip though. Or use watercraft, so leave the speedboat or yacht at home!!

Most times I've been to where I have placed the cache I was the only one there so you shouldn't have to worry too much about stealth here.

The cache is a smallish cliplock tub, the co-ordinates should be accurate enough for you to find this one. There is tree cover though so once parked stand next to the road and your GPS should point you at it and the correct distance.

If you REALLY need it use the hint :P

When first placed, the cache contained:

a toy car,
2 punchball balloons,
a Welsh flag badge,
a pair of AA batteries to be taken only if needed to carry on caching!,
the log, a pencil and a sharpener.

Happy caching! :-)

** Congrats to The-Chaos-Team for the FTF **
