To continue with a tradition started by fallenfaery and Special Ed, we place this 2000th commemorative cache for our friend Sgauss.
While sitting in a McDonalds recently, after retrieving a local puzzle cache and working on another one, I asked the cache owner, Ralphmjw, in email conversations if he would like plan together and place a commemorative cache for a friend of ours. Coincidentally, that friend (Sgauss) was running for the ftf of Ralphmjw’s puzzle cache that I was working on!! Within minutes, out of the blue, Ralphmjw got a text and I got an email from Shannonigan asking if I was putting out a Sgauss commemorative cache and could he help! So the three of us put our heads together and planned this cache. Shannonigan found a beautiful location, brought swag, I got the ammo can, Abby painted it and Ralphmjw put together the puzzle that would fit a theme of some of Sgauss’ caches and his 1000th commemorative cache seen here : Sgauss' 1000th Cache! - The Big Lebowski Quiz
Together with some special items and a logbook from Ralph’s car, the cache is in place. Scott had an honorary ftf on this cache today. So the ftf is still up for grabs!
Sadly, on 6/17/14, I was told by a cacher that the ammo can has gone missing. The logbook and pencils were still there so I replaced the cache with a small lock & lock.
On 7/7/16, I heard that this might be missing. I checked on it and it was missing. I replaced it with a lock & lock about 30 ft. north of solved. It's the only host nearby.
Sgauss likes to cache, rock climb, the Big Lebowski and a ftf! His name is often on the cache logs in the western suburbs and when my kids find his name ahead of ours, they exclaim “Sgauss!” and laugh. We found out later that many cachers and their families (Shannonigan) shout the same “Sgauss!” while logging in.
