Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in my favorite park Point Defiance, also known as the GPSR Bermuda Triangle. The coordinates were taken over several days with three different GPRS' so I think they are pretty accurate. Please obey all park rules. Bring your own pen.

Congrats to the The McMorrows and 2ndof3 on the FTF!

In this series I combine my love of geocaching and useless movie trivia. This cache is inspired by firefighting movies.

This genre of movie goes back all the way to 1896 when The Morning Alarm, a silent, black and white film that lasts only one minute was made. In the 1930s the, "Our Gang" kids made several firefighting films. The Three Stooges also made two firemen movies.

My personal favorite firefighting film is 1991s Backdraft. It was directed by Ron Howard and stars Kurt Russell, William Baldwin and Robert De Niro.

Much of the soundtrack was later used for the Japanese cooking show, Ryôri no tetsujin, AKA "Iron Chef".

The iconic promotional image of the fireman's silhouette emerging from a fiery doorway appears on Firefighter License Plates issued in the state of California.

In the final firefight they are fighting a chemical fire. They are fighting the fire with water. Anyone who knows about chemical fires knows that water will just make it spread. So then why are they fighting the fire with water when they should be using foam from a fire extinguisher?
