Lurengo è un piccolo villaggio (che appartiene amministrativamente al comune di Quinto), abitato oggi stabilmente da una ventina di persone. Durante l'estate il paese si anima con l'arrivo dei villeggianti, ma le estati del dopoguerra avevano un sapore decisamente diverso. A dare lustro al paese c'era l'Albergo Corecco, una struttura alberghiera di lusso che richiamava in Leventina le famiglie benestanti dei grandi agglomerati urbani ticinesi. La struttura ha conosciuto negli anni fortune alterne fino alla chiusura definitiva e all'oblio odierno. Rimane l'edificio, oggi in stato di abbanono, a testimonianza di questi fasti.

Lurengo is a small village (belonging politically to Quinto) inhabited by no more then 20 people. During summers the village comes to life due to the arrival of the tourists, but the summers of the post-war years must have had a completly differnt taste. There was in fact the Albergo Corecco, a luxury hotel attracting in the Leventina valley the wealthy families of the biggest cities of the Ticino. During the years, the structure has known a rollercoaster of fortune, until its closure and the oblivion of these days. The building still stands, as a reminder of those glamourous days.
