Main Street Leduc -The Good Ole Days! Part One Multi-Cache
mwellman: The City of Leduc still has not put the signs back up and they are not sure that they will be in the same spots. So sadly we are archiving this Main Street Leduc series that we created after enjoying the Stony Plain murals series. Hopefully someone else can use these signs for a fun cache, whether traditonal, puzzle or multi!
Thank you to everyone who enjoyed a walk along Main Street Leduc and found our cache!

After having fun hunting for Celestial Badger's excellent Stony Plain Mural series, we thought we should do one for Leduc, too! But we don't have any murals? Ohh, our Main Street does have plaques that describe the history of Main Street, Leduc. Maybe those will work?
Just three blocks long, the plaques are placed on light poles etc along the sidewalks of our Main Street, more commonly known as 50th Avenue. In order to solve this multi, you will need to either write the information down or take a photo so that you can refer to the information later.
N53 1D.CGA W113 3H.BEF
Go to the North East corner of Main Street (50th Avenue and 46th Street).
Just west you will find Sign “A” = N53 15.891 W113 32.798. In the last digit of this year, 19X”A”, the streets and avenues have been graded and graveled and ¾ of Leduc has water and sewer.
Go west to the next sign” Sign “B” = N53 15.891 W 113 32.824. Leduc’s First Hardware Store was built in 1”B”X2. Sign is gone as well as the post. See picture below.
Now you walk west to Sign “C” = N53 15.893 W113 32.878. In 1X”C”X, Robert Telford and the Douglas brothers built a 2 story building here.
And on our Northwest Sign “D” = N53 15. 15.891 W113 33.071. A half day holiday was declared when the water and sewer lines were completed on December “D”, 1949.
Yeah, you are halfway there!
Now cross the street at the lights on the corner of 50th Avenue and 50th Street and head East on Main Street(50th Avenue).
Our Southwest Sign is “E” = N53 15.881 W113 33.011. In 1909, there are X grain elevators and one flour mill in Leduc. How many grain elevators do you see in this picture? Sign is gone! See picture below.
Walk East to Sign “F” = N53 15.883 W113 32.919. In 1907, the town council passed a by-law “preventing the running at large of animals and fowls.” Cows however were permitted to at large between May 15 and November “F” from 6 am to 7:30 PM ???.
Continue East to Sign “G” = N53 15.879 W113 32.903. In 1907, Town Council planned to spend $1”G”00.00 on grading and planking the sidewalks.
And your final Sign “H” = N53 15.881 W113 32.786. What is the third number of the year that Leduc first got its electrical plant? Let that number be “H”.
Sit on the nearby bench to calculate the coordinates for the cache. It is just a short walk away. But in what direction?
Sorry that it’s a nano, but it is an urban hide!
Congratulations to diids for being the First to Find the cache! And for being the First to Find one of the Main Street, Leduc series caches!
