Geocache Description:

A lovely and easy hike through grassy fields, a young forest, and wild patches of blueberries.

Enjoy a nice and relaxing hike, and snack on some wild blueberries, black raspberries, and cranberries on your way. A variety of wildlife can often be seen on this trail. The cache is located on what was a cattle farm over 100 years ago. Along your hike, you may notice a series of locust wood fence posts in what was the grazing area. If you go off trail, be prepared to get your feet wet. Much of this area is boggy and what may seem like solid ground often is not.

There are a few possible paths to the cache, but the first one described is the most maintained of them.

Park at N 39 07.751, W 079 27.498. Take the trail through the grassy field (another trail will merge with this one). You will come to a fork in the path at N 39 07.786, W 079 27.351. For the scenic and slightly longer hike, bear right onto Trial Road Trail (orange blaze). Continue to N 39 07.866, W 079 36.972 and take the Beaver Creek trail (white blaze).

For the shorter hike (.7mi), at the fork bear left onto Beaver Creek Trail. This path is often quite wet, but is a rather level trail. Waterproof boots are recommended.

The cache is a .50cal ammo box.

The cache is located on property owned and maintained by CVI for public use. Permission was obtained to place the cache.

Please visit the kiosk located at N 39 07.749 W 079 26.941 for property information and rules regarding use of the property.
