The "Bathtub Capital of the World", AKA Nanaimo, was first occupied by the Coast Salish people, known as the Snuneymuxw (Snuh-NAY-moo). Europeans first made landfall in the late 1700`s, and many years later coal was discovered. Soon the small First Nations village became a hub of activity with the population ever growing, all due to the discovery of a natural resource.





To find the cache, answer the following questions:



In 1854, Nanaimo had how many schools? (A)

The 1887 Nanaimo Mine Explosion killed how many people? Answer minus 5 (C)
