Dolceacqua. Very nice mediaeval city in the mountains near Ventimiglia. Worth a visit.
Dolceacqua is perhaps the best preserved mediaeval city I know. At least I have the feeling it is. With its small – sometimes dark - winding steep streets, high walls and lovely old cellars that are still in use by local artists, it is a must see.
You can climb all the way up to the old castle and even further, to have a magnificent view over the castle and the city. A bit higher up I have hidden a cache.
The cache is a small Tupperware box with a blue lid and a small log in it. It is well hidden. Be sure to hide the cache well again, to prevent it from being found by accident.
And afterwards you can have a great diner in one of the Agriturismos, where they are very friendly and where they serve a great meal (Piatti Tippici locale) for a fair price.
