Geocache Description:

Come out and join us Saturday October 22nd from 8am until 1pm to help clean up the northern section of the Chief Ladiga Trail and do what we all love, Geocaching and talking about Geocaching. Find a cache and pick up trash!

A few months ago your fellow cachers CSI 714, Geo-Nitro, Terrier, Pickatree, and EggSilent4 put a series a caches along the North Eastern section of the CLT reaching from around mile marker 9.5 north of Piedmont all the way to the GA state line. Now they are asking for your help to clean up this section of trail as a way of saying "thank you" for allowing us to place the hides. The caches are in. Now lets get the trash out!

We will have an event station set up at the posted coordinates beginning at 8:00 AM and this will be the event headquaters throughout the day. We will have trash bags, a few pokey sticks, and water available to help make the day a success. Shuttles will carry groups to one end of the trail or the other to allow you to walk as much or little as you'd like. Prefer to bring your bike, that's OK too!

Are you interested in helping, but not up for a long hike? We could use your help as well! We hope to have several shuttles throughout the morning and you could help move cachers, or muggles, to points along the trail. We want to ensure all areas are covered!

Anyone is welcome to bring their own bags and begin at a different area of the trail and hike toward CITO headquarters if you'd prefer that plan. (Please contact a member of the event staff in advance for safety purposes.) We would be more than happy to shuttle you back to your vehicle.

Cold drinks and a hand washing station will be available until 1pm at the main location and a couple of bonus areas along the route. We will be serving hot dogs beginning around 11am and continuing until 12:30pm. Please plan your hike in order to have all trash collected and be back at event headquarters for a group photo at 1pm. We will ensure everything is picked up and loaded for proper disposal. Hey, we'll even make a run down the trail to grab bags left between major points.

Please help get the word out. Tell all your fellow cachers what a great area we have here in Northeast Alabama / Northwest Georgia and how lucky we are to have the trail available for everyone to enjoy. And hey, 70 + caches are nothing to laugh about either.

Three parking areas have been listed and there is parking at the main site as well.
