A lovely short if sometimes muddy walk though Fawkes Common (Woods)
The Fawkes and Bitchett Commons form part of the Knowle Manorial Waste. The Commons were for Centuries extensively grazed by domestic animals until common grazing rights were stopped which slowly enabled the well wooded appearance the commons have today. There has been some experimental clearings made here and there to see how land diversifies.
The cache is just out of the Knowle Deer Park, in Rambles Wood, it is also just outside an SSSI and is close to a path that can be accessed from various points. The paths/tracks can become quite/very muddy in places and can be slightly over grown, depending on the route you take, so be prepared. This is our first cache and we hope you enjoy this lovely part of Kent. The cach is medium sized and when placed contained various goodies. So space for swaps, TBs etc
Favourite walk for us is from parking spot provided, although you can get closer, or even come through Knowle Deer Park and into Fawkes Wood for a longer lovely walk.
