Leura's little Bloome Park is conveniently located just south of the Leura Mall shopping district and is a great place to take the kids or just to sit and have lunch. You can buy your cappuccino at a nearby cafe and then walk less than 100 metres to this quiet & leafy spot.
I thought Leura Mall deserved another geocache, catering for tourists and overseas visitors to this famous shopping, cafe and restaurant district. And of course, it's a only a short drive to the many magnificent lookouts along the edges of the cliffs. My grandchildren visited from Queensland and played in Bloome Park years ago. It's located at the corner of Craigend Street and Leura Mall, and you can park your vehicle on adjacent Craigend Street. When I find out more about the Bloome who's honoured by the park's name, I'll post the details here, in this description! In the meantime, I pay tribute with this geocache to what he or she contributed to my adopted Blue Mountains home town . . . Note that this geocache doesn't require you to dig or scratch or climb trees. And you don't have to plunge into the bushes. GZ cache placement is almost but not quite wheelchair accessible. I've deliberately placed the cache as far as possible away from the playground equipment and picnic tables. Remember: no scratching or digging required. In fact, you can reach slightly up to this cache while standing outside the park itself, where there ought to be a footpath. Please remember to bring your own writing implement.
