On April 26, 2011 a deadly tornado ripped through the heart of Vilonia causing severe damage and loss of lives. Many news reports prematurely reported an exaggerated story that the town was completely wiped off the map.
Exactly 3 years and a day later, another tornado rampaged through the town, causing more destruction than the last but this time, injuring many, and even claiming lives.
It was a tragedy felt by the entire state of Arkansas and even those from other states as volunteers rallied to the aid of the Vilonia residents and were shown just how strong and resilient they truly are. For whatever happened to this community and how it impacted their lives forever, let there be no doubt that the Eagles will soar again!
Please remember the people of Vilonia, and their losses by posting what you see here today. If you are one of the many generous volunteers that happen to stop by my humble little cache, please share your story and what you are doing to help this proud community!
