The gulf of Nicoya is scattered with islands and the shore is offering a diversity of untouched beaches, cliffs and mangrove. The calm water in the gulf is perfect for kayaking or boat trips. At Isla Cedros you will see local fishing boats scattered around the coast as there are a number of fishermen locating here.
This cache is located at Playa Langosta and is the second cache in my series of “My Favorite Places around where I live”.
Playa Langosta is the longest beach at Isla Cedros, and the always calm water makes it perfect for swimming. There is no tourism on the island, so you are assured to have the beach on your own and if you would like to wander around on the island a bit there are some nice paths. If you walk into the island from the beach you will even find a tiny primary school with a nice soccer field ;o)
In Costa Rica all land 50m from the shore is public, so you don’t have to worry about asking for permission to enter ;o)
The Cache is placed up from the ground, look for the “escalera de mono” (monkey stairs). It is a small container, containing the log and a little something for the FTF.
