This is the start of a series of letterbox hybrids on the north sea cycle route. http://www.northsea-cycle.com/ They are based on the months of year and includes some facts. The container is a small clear lock & lock box. sorry there is only room for 1 or 2 trackables/swaps.
April In the Roman calendar, Aprilis. It was the second month in the older Roman calendar, which had only ten months. Its name might have come from Latin aperire, to open, referring to the Spring opening of buds and blossoms. It might also be a dedication to the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite (who was called Venus in Roman mythology). Earlier versions in English, from about the 13th century, included Aperill, Averil and the French Avril. In Old English, it was eastermonath Easter-month. Eostre was the Germanic goddess of fruits and fertility whose name was borrowed by the Christian Church for the festival of Easter. Another cache in the series just off the pathway towards the railway line. Please take care when putting the cache back to it’s hiding place, again the undergrowth is very light. Thanks Jim. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY FOUND JAN, FEB AND MARCH. JUST BEAR IN MIND THAT IT'S A FAIR TREK AND THERE IS NO CROSSING ON EITHER SIDE OF THE CYCLEWAY. IF YOU CONTINUE AFTER FINDING APRIL AND GO ONTO MAY YOU WILL END UP IN MONIFIETH, LIKEWISE IF YOU FINISH HERE YOU WILL HAVE TO BACKTRACK TOWARDS CARNOUSTIE. This cache type pays homage to an older form of scavenger hunt. Letterbox hybrids must contain a signature stamp that stays with the box. A letterbox hybrid may have a mystery or puzzle element, but cannot be designed to be found by only using clues. To seek a letterbox hybrid, you will not need your own personal stamp and letterboxing logbook just log your visit as normal in the visitors book as you would do with any other type of cache, thanks. if you do have a stamp please “sign” the logbook. For more information go to http://www.letterboxing.org/GettingStarted/getstart.htm Please note that the stamp and ink pad are not swaps
