Steam Rolled Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

team moxiepup: We are sorry to have to archive this one, but the Auto Museum is going to be closing and the steam roller has been sold. We would like to thank the Auto Museum for their kind patronage and mamadukes1961 for the heads up so we could retrieve the cache before it gets hauled away.

Geocache Description:

We have driven by this location many times and thought it would be a great spot for a cache, and today we finally couldn't resist!

To find this cache, you will be exploring a retired steam roller, dating back to the early 1900's. It is believed that this steam roller was originally owned by a barn stormer in Skowhegan, who used it to flatten his runway! The Wells Antique Auto Museum acquired the steam roller in 1982, and it has resided out in front of the museum ever since.

Although the museum is open seasonally, feel free to search for the cache year round. The steam roller is not going anywhere! Please note where you find the cache, so that you can return it to its proper location. This cache is supposed to be hidden in a spot that is not immediately obvious. Parking may be found near the cache.

This cache is hidden on the property of the Wells Antique Auto Museum, with their kind permission. Feel free to stop in the museum to say hello.

Congrats to Milo on a FTF... and of course marcipanek :)
