Pounding the Lees Traditional Cache

Pound Lees recreation ground used to be the site of many events such as Hamstreet Country Show, Hamstreet festival of transport and various bikejumble days. These now all take place in a field nearer to the Royal Military Canal, leaving Pound Leas as a fully-drained sports field with tennis courts and a new pavilion which was built with money raised by the Hamstreet and District Sports and Leisure Association charity. There is a public footpath across the field from the car park in The Street which re-emerges onto Marsh Road at the edge of the village - a peaceful alternative to walking along the road past the garage. Free guides for ramblers which feature a number of footpaths in the area can be picked up at the village railway station. Look out for muggles as you locate this cache.
