Trying to Make a Liar Outta Me Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

newfriders: This one was indeed missing again. I'm going ahead and archiving this to open this area for someone else to put a new hide in the vicinity. It had a nice run. Thanks to all of those who found this cache and took the time to write up some cool logs. Thanks!

Geocache Description:

This should be an easy grab for anyone finishing up the ride on the Peace Train or starting the paddle to, or just passing by!

PLEASE NOTE: Cache was DNF'ed several times before 6/24/12. Missing cache was replaced. There is no need to go into the water or the briers. Cache is only about 3 feet off the trail, about waist height.

This anniversary hide commemorates a year of caching with a certain geo-gal.

Newfriders started caching August 2010, and soon after met a cache guru! We went out together for the first time in September 2010. She tricked my by telling me we'd go spend the day sitting on the beach in Ocean City. She suggested grabbing "a cache or two" while we were there. Before I knew it, we were all over that island and barely got a chance to sit!

Anyway, as we approached our very first cache together that fateful day, this gal says to me:

"If anyone asks, tell them you are looking for keys that your husband dropped in the sand."

Uhhhhhhh, okay, but she didn't know that I hate, hate, HATE to LIE! That added some anxiety to the hunt---do I REALLY HAVE TO LIE????

Fast forward a year and over 400 caches later, and I'm happy to report that I really haven't had to tangle any webs, until---------

While waiting at Makepeace Lake for Gal & Bubba to arrive with the kayaks one fine morning, I spied a great place for a quick cache. I had everything ALMOST in place when the gang arrived. Uhhhhhh, now what do I do? I had left my GPSr averaging at GZ. As nonchalantly as I could, I strolled back to GZ to gather my equipment and tried to nanchalantly stroll back to our launch point.

Gal says:
"Is there a cache out there???"

Uhhhhhh, ummmmmm, all I could come up with was something along the lines of "well, it would be a nice place for a cache, mumble mumble mumble." So, actually, I DIDN'T lie, right??

Thanks Gal (and Bubba) for a year of fun and learning---You've been fantastic fun!!
