Mount Gabriel is a mountain located on the Mizen Peninsula in West Cork.
Its summit is 407m high.
In the late 1970s, two radar domes were built on the top of the mountain as part of the European air traffic control system
A roadway serving the radar installations on the summit is open to the public.
From the peak of Mt. Gabriel, there are spectacular views South over Schull Harbour and Long Island Bay. To the east and southeast, the views take in Roaring Water Bay and its many islands, popularly known as Carbery's Hundred Isles, North and West is a panoramic view Dunmanus Bay,Bantry Bay and of the mountains of the Beara Peninsula and South Kerry.
The Fastnet Rock is situated some 18 km to the South, clearly visible in fine weather.
To find the Cache you will need to follow the road to the top of the mountain where there is a parking area.
At the top of the mountain you will find a large white sign inside a closed off area. On the top right corner of the sign there is a smaller sign,black in colour, this smaller sign is required to work out the clue to find the co ordinates for the cache location.All words which appear on this black sign must be taken into account when working out the co ordinates.
You must count the number of times particular letters appear in the wording.
