Bortons pond, near Georgetown, is the headwater pond for the Lower Waitaki Irrigation Co. large irrigation scheme.
The pond is a popular refuge for water fowl, fishing, and more recently white water canoeing. During the summer months a number of campers can also be found camping in the area. The cache is a 100ml container with log book only. Take care to replace the cache as you found it. Bring your own pen.
