A camo rx bottle. It is larger than most rx bottles and can hold small trackable items. I would hunt this one only during the day.
Nestled in the heart of urban South Augusta is a natural and historic gem located just off Deans Bridge Rd on Old Us HWY 1. With the sounds of a babbling stream accompanying the serene view of a large pond full of geese and other birds surrounded by beautiful hardwood forest, the 55 acre Lombard Mill Pond conservation area is a world away from the traffic and parking lots of the urban environment - a welcome retreat from city life.
In 2005, the Land Trust protected the Pond’s forests, wetlands, and the remains of the historic grist mill for which the area is named. A grist mill is where grains such as wheat, rye, oat and or barley is ground up to make flour of meal. Go to the realated web page to see how a grist mill works. This area is going to be a recreational trail that would provide our community with greater opportunity to experience the beauty of the great outdoors right in their own “backyard”. In the last 6 years, the Land Trust and its partners have removed dumpster loads of trash and debris, painstakingly controlled invasive species, hand-cut foot paths, and have secured funding for a 2.5 mile multi-use trail loop that will wind through the forest and around the Pond, with breathtaking views of wild birds nesting in the restored wetland areas. So please be careful and remember to cache in and trash out. The first segment of this trail is complete and waiting for the next.
