Woods Chapel Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

StealthRT: Unfortunately due to the current circumstances I will not be able to make it to ground zero to check on the cache.

I want to thank *gln for his patience and kindness on this cache, the Gipner's for their willingness to trust us and allow us to place a geocache on site, and to every geocacher who thought enough of the placement to offer up a favorite point. They really do mean a lot. Thank you to everyone who stopped out.

Geocache Description:

Woods Chapel was constructed in 1875. The chapel was set on a foundation of limestone rock via post and beam construction. Field stone piers were used to support tree trunk joists. The floor was then laid in plank. This chapel still has some of its original darkwood bead board wainscot. A new floor has been installed over the original plank floor.

With regard to the cache, you do not really want to do this one. Go and take a look at the chapel and for those of you who enjoy exploring cemeteries, take a walk through the grounds in the rear. Then take a shot at the cache if you like. Don’t blame me if you don’t find it, though. It may be a bit of a challenge.

If you do bother to find the cache, please replace it exactly as it was found. I’m serious about this. If you aren’t willing to replace it as found, don’t do the cache. Not only do I want others to be able to have the same experience, but more importantly, if I ever have to check on the cache, I’ll never find it if you don’t put it right back where it was, the way it was.

Enjoy Woods Chapel. Enjoy the cache if you can.

This cache was released for the enjoyment of all during the 2011 First International Geocaching Day and 2011 Kansas City Picnic Events.
