Geocache Description:

Blue Lagoon Diving & Leisure Centre

A cache by pbowenwalker & cremedecassis

This is the first in a series of 5 underwater caches in the North of England and Wales which will require a qualified scuba-diver's help to complete. (You may also be interested in the "Narcosis:the fun continues" series which extends this series further). We have created these caches so that one part is underwater and one part is land-based. We have done this so that every member of the caching team - divers and non-divers alike can participate in the hunt.

Good luck; and remember

"Plan the dive and Dive the Plan"

The coordinates given are for an entry point into The Blue Lagoon diving lake closest to the cache. Once in the water, the diver will need to swim following a bearing of 230o for a few seconds until they arrive at a platform. Once at the platform, the diver will then swim on a second bearing of 295o for 3-4mins until they reach a larger platform or a large wheeled gun/canon (it is easier to find the large platform than the gun, but they are next to each other). On the back of the gun there is an aluminium plate with the word "SADDLE" stamped onto it - also on this plate is a long series of numbers (13 numbers long) together with a date. Record the long number. (You have now completed Part 1 of the cache). Back on the surface - use the 3rd number (= X), the 8th number (= Y) , the 10th number (= Z) of the long number sequence. Substitute these into the coordinates below and use them to find the cache containing the logbook hidden somewhere on the site on the surface. (Part 2).

N53o 40.XY9 W 001o 12.3Z7

When you log your find online - please state in your log whether you were a diver or non-diver.

Photos and slightly extended logs would be very welcome.

Please be aware there is an annual charge of £5 to join the dive centre and an additional charge of £5 to dive at the site on the day (for new members). Divers who are already registered pay £10 to dive for the day.
Many thanks to the staff at Blue Lagoon scuba centre for permission to set-up this cache.

***Congratulations to Shaun2472 on being the FTF***
