This cache is located on the owners' private property in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains and surrounded by forest service lands. Very beautiful drive to this location. The gates to the ranch are open 5 days a week, Monday thru Friday, from 8am to 4:30pm
Welcome to Mount Ida, a beautiful small Arkansas town. The surrounding mountains are well known for their hidden bounty of Quartz Crystals. Tourists from around the world are drawn here to search for them in the rich red soil of the various mines.
From the cache site, if you look to the northeast mountains, you may be able to see one of our reclaimed mining sites. After mining a location, we replace the soil and replant thousands of trees for the benefit of mother nature and for future generations.
