The cache is NOT the posted coordinates. It is only the starting location for your search and not the actual cache.
This is a Letterbox Hybird with rubber stamp and log book. There are several stages and each stage must be solved in order to learn the next coordinates and to ultimately find the final cache.
The starting coordinates will take you to a commemorative American Legion plaque. An important date is mentioned on this plaque. It will help you fill in the missing digits for the coordinates shown below.
N 41 53. 625 W 088 XX.XXX
Once you have identified this important point in time subtract this number - .-- . -. - -.-- / - .-- --- (hint: you’ll need to know Morse Code) this will give you the missing first four digits. Next find out what number represents the month in the calendar year that the Civil War began. Subtract two. Use your answer to fill in the final missing number to the coordinates above.
Arriving at your next stage you’ll find two rainmakers. They point to a compass. One of the compass’ directional grids points to an armored red sentry. Just east of this iron protector you’ll find your next clue. Look for small container. Inside you'll find a written account pertaining to the early history of the American flag.
Read this record of historic events. You'll find one number that is mentioned more than any other (look for the highlighted numbers). Use that number and then find the corresponding number that represents various targets located throughout this park. The final cache will be found close by West of the target and camouflaged. Just like "Old Glory," look up it's not down or on the ground. God bless the USA.
Enjoy!
