Leicestershire has a long history of livestock farming which continues today. Originally, four large fields surrounded the town of Leicester on which people could graze their livestock. The West Field disappeared by the 12th Century. The East Field was being developed by the 18th Century, and by the beginning of the 19th Century, the only sizeable field left was the South Field.
This was a large area, stretching from Regent Road right across to the River Soar, covering land between London Road, Welford Road and Aylestone Road. Part of this land was to become the area still known as Freemen's Common.
You'll find this cleverly disguised cache somewhere in this 'common'. You are looking for a very small cache, containing only a logbook, so bring a pen (and possibly a paperclip or hairgrip). It could easily be ignored.
