“ The Ram Island Cache”
This island is straight off the end of Sherwood Bay Road. It's so small and not officially named, so it won't show up on the maps. But trust your GPS. It is only a 5 minute paddle in a canoe. The residents along Sherwood Bay Road are kind of picky about parking down by the water. Just a heads up on that for you. You would be wise to drop off your canoe at the waters edge, then park your car back on King St. and walk back to the canoe. It’s only a 5 minute walk.
The island is very small. I named it “Ram Island”. I kind of adopted this little island earlier this summer while touring around on my Seadoo. I come here quite often just to relax, suntan and enjoy some snorkeling. It’s only a one minute ride in my boat from where I dock it for the summer. So I thought, why not hide a cache here and let others share in the beauty that I enjoy on this little island.
The coordinates are bang on so you won’t paddle past it. The cache is hidden about 3 feet from the waters edge. You can pull up to within 3 feet of the cache in your kayak, canoe, dingy or even a small power boat. You must exit your boat though to find the cache. Bring a pik-nik if you like and stay awhile. The views are fantastic and the snorkeling around the island is great also. So have fun with this one, enjoy my little island and remember to practice “Cache In, and Trash Out”.
As always, Have Fun, and Happy Trails to you.
