[JLX.05] 10# A Lanterna de Zena Traditional Geocache

PREMESSA
I festeggiamenti per il mio primo geocompleanno richiedevano, indubbiamente, qualcosa di veramente speciale. Dopo un intero giorno trascorso a rifletterci, all'improvviso un'idea geniale si affacciò alle porte della mia mente. Perché non iniziare proprio da Genova e dal suo monumento più rappresentativo, il simbolo principe della città, ovvero la Lanterna? Detto e fatto! Ne saranno certamente lieti i geocacher che lamentavano la carenza di cache fisici in centro città. Mi auspico possa essere il primo di una serie per consentire ai più di conoscere Genova e le sue bellezze nascoste.

LA LANTERNA
La Lanterna di Genova si raggiunge esclusivamente a piedi, attraverso la "passeggiata della Lanterna", un percorso di circa seicento metri che parte dal parcheggio dello Shopping Center del Terminal Traghetti. Costruita nelle forme attuali nel 1543, la Lanterna è alta 77 metri e sorge su una roccia di 40 metri. La sua altezza sul livello del mare è quindi 117 metri. Il raggio di luce raggiunge i 50 km. I visitatori possono arrivare fino al primo ballatoio, appena sopra la croce (76 metri sul livello del mare) salendo 172 scalini. Il faro è circondato alla base dalle antiche fortificazioni che oggi ospitano il “Museo della Lanterna”. Tutto intorno il parco, aperto al pubblico. Il solitario scoglio su cui sorge la Lanterna, oggi isolato in mezzo alle banchine portuali, costituisce l'ultimo resto del Promontorio di San Benigno, che chiudeva da ponente la città. Tutto quanto è stato restaurato tra il 1995 e il 2004. E' gestito dalla Marina Miltare Italiana. Si tratta di un radiofaro aeromarittimo; è impiegato, infatti, sia per la navigazione marittima, sia per quella aerea.

COME ARRIVARE
La passeggiata parte a lato del parcheggio del Terminal Traghetti. Il parcheggio gratuito, invece, si trova circa a metà della passeggiata ed è adiacente ad essa.

AVVERTENZE E RACCOMANDAZIONI

1) RICOLLOCAZIONE DEL CACHE
Il cache è oggetto di frequente manutenzione. E' facile, tuttavia, incorrere in perdite o esposizioni eccessive ai geomuggles. Si prega pertanto, di riporre il cache esattamente come indicato nelle foto spoiler.

2) REGISTRAZIONE
La veridicità dei ritrovamenti è fondamentale per garantire una manutenzione programmata ed efficiente. Al termine di ogni sessione di manutenzione verrà pubblicata foto del registro delle firme. Verranno eliminati tutti i ritrovamenti che non trovino riscontro. Nessuna eccezione.

PREAMBLE
The festivities for my first geobirthday required, indeed, something very special. After a full day spent in reflection, a brilliant idea suddenly appeared at the gates of my mind. Why not beginning from Genoa and its most representative monument, the Prince symbol of the City, that is the Lantern? Said and done! The geocachers who complained about the lack of physical caches in the city center will be certainly glad. I hope it will be the first of a serie to get lots of people know Genoa and its hidden beauties.

THE LANTERN
The Lighthouse of Genoa can be reached only on foot, through the "walk of the Lantern", a journey of about six hundred meters from the parking area of the Shopping Center at the Ferry Terminal. Built in its present form in 1543, the lighthouse is 77 meters high and stands on a 40 meters rock. Its height above sea level is then 117 meters. The ray of light reaches 50 km. Visitors can reach the first landing, just above the cross (76 meters above sea level) by climbing 172 steps. The lighthouse is surrounded at the base by the ancient fortifications which now give hospitality to the "Museum of the Lantern". All around is the park, open to the public. The solitary rock on which stands the lighthouse, now isolated in the middle of the docks, is the last remain of the Cape of San Benigno, who closed the city from the west. Everything was restored between 1995 and 2004. It is controlled by the Italian Navy. It is air and naval, i.e. it is used both for navigation at sea and for the airline.

HOW TO GET THERE
The promenade starts at the car park next to the Ferry Terminal. The free parking, however, is about at the half of the promenade and is adjacent to it.

WARNINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
1) REPOSITIONING THE CACHE
The cache is subject to frequent maintenance, however, it is easy to incur losses or excessive exposure to geomuggles. So please put exactly where indicated in the spoilers.

2) LOGS
The truth of the founds is very important for a scheduled and efficient maintenance. At the end of every maintenance session a logbook photo will be published. Every found which does not match the logbook will be deleted. No exception admitted.
