Die Babisnauer Pappel wurde 1808 von dem Gutsbesitzer Johann
Gottlieb Becke als Grenzmarkierung gepflanzt. Die Schwarzpappel ist
von vielen Standorten in Dresden und Umgebung aus zu sehen und
deshalb eine klassische Landmarke. 1890 wird neben der Pappel noch
eine Eiche, die sogenannte Bismarck-Eiche gepflanzt. Der sehr
schöne Blick ist von dem 1999 neu erbauten Aussichtsturm (der
bisher vierte Turm seit 1885) noch besser und man kann das gesamte
Umland – Dresdner Elbtalkessel, Sächsische Schweiz –
überblicken.

English version: The “Babisnauer Pappel” was planted
1808 by the landowner Johann Gottlieb Becke as a boundary mark. At
many positions in Dresden and environment the black poplar is to
see and therefore a classical landmark. 1890, in addition to the
poplar, they planted the so called Bismarck-oak tree. The beautiful
view is from the 1999 newly-built lookout tower (the fourth tower
since 1885) even better and you can overview the entire surrounding
area - Dresden, Saxon Switzerland.
